Canada baseball player, Chris Robinson, bunts the ball to Mexico’s third basemen, Luis Cruz, and they gained a big lead, 9-3.
According to the WBC Rule Book, players can’t bunt the ball when they have a big lead. After Robinson bunts, Cruz picks up the ball and tells Arnold Leon to hit the next batter.
It’s the ninth inning and it was 0-0 count on Canada’s Rene Tosoni. Mexico’s Leon pitches the first pitch to Tosoni, almost hits him on the rib, to make it 1-0 count, second pitch almost hits him on the stomach, to make it 2-0 count, Tosoni gets mad and home plate umpire warns both dugouts.
Leon hits Tosoni on the back. When this happens, Mexico’s catcher tries to stop Tosoni from fighting their pitcher but it didn’t work because when both dugouts saw Tosoni get hit they ran on the field and started a gigantic brawl.
When this gigantic brawl ended, Canadian pitching coach Denis Boucher was hit on the face with a full water bottle which was thrown by a spectator in the crowd. Canada shortstop, Cale Iorg angrily threw the water bottle back into the crowd. Despite all this violence no players from either team got suspended. Canada won the game 10-3.
