The 2013 NFL draft will have lots of talent in all positions and the 49ers are in need of a better backup quarterback.
As of now they have Colt McCoy as their backup quarterback. McCoy may not be that bad of a quarterback, but his career with the Cleveland Browns was not so great. He lost his starting position to the rookie Brandon Weeden in the 2012-2013 season.
There are a couple of quarterbacks who would work well with the 49ers’ pistol offense and one of them is Geno Smith from West Virginia University. He can run and throw almost like Colin Kaepernick and RG3.
The backup quarterback position is not the only spot that the 49ers need to fill. The 49ers could use another safety since they lost Dashon Goldson to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Matt Elam from Florida would be a good replacement.
Overall the 49ers are well equipped with great players in most positions and any draft picks would only be adding talent to the team. For the rest of the NFL, there are plenty of players that will benefit the teams.
My top 5 predictions of who will get drafted:
- Kansas City Chiefs with Luke Joeckle from Texas A&M
- Jacksonville Jaguars with Sharrif Floyd from Florida
- Detroit Lions with Eric Fisher from Central Michigan
- Philadelphia Eagles with Dion Jordan from Oregon
- Oakland Raiders with Star Lotulelei from Utah
