Thanks to the use of 3-D printing technology, America has witnessed the creation of a printed 3-D gun. On May 5 2013, youtube user DXLiberty posted a video demonstrating the 3-D printed gun shooting a real bullet. According to the video, this gun is named the Liberator and its video has already recieved two million views on youtube. On their youtube channel there are more videos of them assembling parts of guns and attaching them to real firearms and demonstrating it. So far this group’s member, Cody Wilson, has only designed parts of guns and is still working to produce full 3-D ones, like the Liberator.
This idea of 3-D printing guns will change things in the future. No one knows how this idea will turn out, if it will become a danger or not, because anyone with a 3-D printer can make things, even guns. There have already been people concerned about this idea and their work, but we won’t know how 3-D printing guns will turn out yet, we’ll just have to wait and see.
