This past Monday it happened again, when the gunman Aaron Alexis, killed 12 innocent victims at the Washington Navy Yard. Once again a mentally unstable person was able to purchase a gun and turn it on innocent bystanders.  “When will enough be enough?” a California Democrat said in a written report. “Congress must stop shirking its responsibility and resume a thoughtful debate on gun violence in this country. We must do more to stop this endless loss of life.” After the horror of Newtown and the mental issues with that shooter Congress should have acted. Instead the right wing of the Republican Party refused to listen to any reason and logic and made sure no legislation had any chance of passing.

What seems so logical – universal background checks for things like mental health issues were not even considered and were blocked by this group at every turn. How many more tragedies do we have to have before we do the right thing, which in this case is vote these people out of office? The power of the vote is our best tool towards gun control and for all our sakes we better get it right.
