This group formed in their senior year of High School, but before being known as OneRepublic they were called This Beautiful Mess. After only being seen for a week and only playing one show, the band broke up. Soon after, they decided they wanted to recover from their issues before and strengthen their skills.
“Most bands they play for years and they suck, They figure out writing on the back end if they figure it out at all. I always wanted to know that as long as I was alive, I could write the kind of songs that would be hits so I would have a career.” Lead singer, Ryan Tedder said in an interview for aceshowbiz.com. By the end of this high school years Tedder not only won an MTV contest songwriting award, but was offered a major record deal. However, he didn’t feel he had what it took to be a professional songwriter and therefore he denied the offer. Both starters of this band, Tedder and guitar member, Zach Filkins, felt the need to carry on within their music careers, therefore they both decided to move up to L.A and started making music together. Shortly after, they were signed to Columbia Records.
A few months later, they finally formed a band with new members Eddie Fisher, Brent Kutzle, and Drew Brown. With deciding on the name OneRepublic. Their debut album, “Dreaming Out Loud,” was released in 2007. they even teamed up with major producers and songwriters such as Greg Wells, Timbaland, and Justin Timberlake whom also helped write their successful first single “Apologize,” which reached number 2 on Billboard Hot 100, rising up to the start of their fame.
About a year later, the band started their new album, which took about a year to finish and release. In 2013, OneRepublic reappeared with their third album,”Native.” They are now on tour for this year as well.
