“Enders Game” is a thrilling science fiction movie that brings to life an old classic. Based of the award winning novel of the same name by Orson Scott Card, the main character Ender Wiggin, played by Asa Butterfield, is recruited and trained to lead mankind’s military space fleet against an alien species. Ender grew up with a great intellectual and strategic mind. Born as the “Third” child of his family, Ender inherited the ruthlessness of his elder brother and the kindness of his sister. After complete victory over a bully, Ender was recruited into Battle School, a military space training facility promoting strategy and combat. From there, Ender makes many friends and comrades, learns to lead a force, and eventually heads off to Command School where he learns to lead humanity’s space fleet.
The graphics are amazing, bringing to life the war games and space battles. The movie follows the book extremely closely, including even the minor details. The only shortfall of the movie is it’s extremely fast paced. The movie tosses around terms and names without explaining them. In the movie, many people call Ender a “Third” without explaining what that means. The movie’s fast pace sometimes interferes with the character development. But these faults does not make “Ender’s Game” a bad movie. If you are looking for a cool science fiction movie to watch, check out “Ender’s Game.”
