Anthony Santos, also known as Romeo Santos, is an American Bachata singer/songwriter. Santos was born in The Bronx, New York and raised to a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother. He began singing in a choir at his local church. later on he created a well known boy band called Aventura with his cousin Henry Santos, singer/composer, and brothers Lenny Santos, guitarist/producer and Max Santos, who played bass in the group.
Aventura released a few albums and songs such as “Obsession,” which was part of their third album “We Broke the Rules.” This created their rise in fame and that single itself topped many international charts. The group became successful and, according to Billboard, the group had nine Top Five hits on the Latin Singles Chart. The group did a temporary separation in 2011 and Romeo Santos decided to go solo in his music career.
Santos debuted his first solo album called “Formula Vol. 1,” which contained fifteen tracks and well known singles. “You” and “Promise” reached the Billboard charts. Many of his other recent songs are “Propuesta Indecente”. He has also collaborated with Don Omar, another Latin pop singer, for the song “Ella y Yo”. Santos is considered among many of the greatest Latin singers and Bachata singers.
