Endless Love isn’t much of a remake of Franco Zeffirelli’s 1981 version of Endless Love.
David Elliot, played by Alex Pettyfer, is a recent high school graduate with amazing SAT scores. Elliot has no desire to go to college. For all his years in high school, he has admired Jade Butterfield, played by Gabriella Wilde, a rich girl who has spent her four years in high school in solitude because of the death of her brother.
After graduation, David and Jade quickly clicked and fall in love. Soon, the couple starts to make love in the Butterfield’s mansion. Jade’s father, Hugh Butterfield, played by Bruce Greenwood, doesn’t like the fact that she is dating David. Although Jade’s mother, Anne Butterfield, played by Joely Richardson, approves of David, Jade’s father doesn’t enjoy his company. Jade’s mother cheers on the couple’s relationship and even decides to write David a recommendation letter. The couple’s love for each other gets bigger until they are hopelessly in love with each other. Watch out for the drama between David and Hugh.
Personally, I had a love relationship with this movie because I love chick flick’s and this definitely made my heart melt. The middle of the movie was my the most moving because David and Jade were adorable and deeply in love. Endless Love is not like most chick flicks. It is certainly worth the money. If you like chick flicks, this is definitely the movie for you.
