The sequel to 300 came out on Thursday march 7th and was a big hit.  It stars Sullivan Stapleton as Themistocles, an  Athenian politician and general.  Sullivan leads a war against the invading Persian forces, led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes.

Unlike the last 300, all the battles are fought on water with ships and women actually fight in the battles as well.  Although there is non-stop action in this movie there is also a touch of romance and remorse. This movie has thrills and fights between enemies’ father and friends.

For this reviewer, this movie overall was 3 out of 5 stars.  The actors were great and the movie is a blood bath, yet the blood looks very digital which really took a lot away from the film.

IMDB they have rated the new 300 a 7 out of ten.  The movie had a great plot and idea but it seemed to be more of companion than a sequel to the original movie 300.  While the previews for the movie had people very excited for  Zack Snyder’s new 300 movie, it seems to have left people a little flat and disappointed.
